Milwaukee Beer Bistro Replaces Rio West Cantina

Early this month I noticed a new development on my walking route. Milwaukee Beer Bistro had replaced Rio West Cantina at 2730 N. Humboldt Ave. in Riverwest. It opened on January 9th, and hosted local musician Pat McCurdy on Jan. 11.

Lakefront Brewery president, Russ Klisch, chose not to renew his contract with Vecchio Entertainment Group, managed by Russ Davis. The group had previously owned and operated the Lakefront Brewery Palm Garden. But not to worry. Davis decided to take the concept he had developed at the Palm Garden and express it in the new Bistro.

The denial to renew the contract was nothing against Davis. Klisch said it was simply a business decision. They are expanding their Brewery Tour hours because there has been more demand. He was happy with Davis’ management.

The casual Milwaukee Beer Bistro, which is the newest craft beer restaurant in Milwaukee, offers a regular Friday fish fry, fresh American craft and session beers, and beer-infused cooking made mostly with ingredients from local vendors.

It has a private party & game room and a full bar. The kitchen will be open late.

It opens at 11 a.m. weekdays and brunch starts at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The brunch menu includes Beer & Bacon Pancakes, Cheddar Cheese Biscuit with Bratwurst Gravy, Waffles and more. Check out the nightly specials!

Watch for a mouth-watering review, coming soon!
